Traditionally the churrasco Brasileño consists of a set of meats strung on skewers or a rotisserie that sticks on the grill and slowly rotates and cooks slowly, the Brazilian restaurant Posada Brasileira located in Toluca City, Mexico, hired the services of CRIDEM which is a company of metal equipment development and metal manufacturing to design and manufacture a mechanism of churrasco, as the business expanded more patrons were coming, so the demand of cooked meat increased. I was an employee of CRIDEM and I had the opportunity to collaborate with a mechanical engineer to build this ´project. Our first task was to visit the site, take the measurements, speak with the staff, and make some hand sketches. After that, we designed all the pieces that would conform to this machine like the metal tray, the metal swords, the motion transmission system. The next step was to make 3D models of each piece, then create a general assembly and produce all the technical drawings, those drawings were supplied to the manufacturing area, which is a big workshop with machinery like the metal bending machine, plasma cutting, the metal roller, the welding area and so on. Part of my duty was to deliver the drawings to this manufacturing area and make sure they were built with the desired quality. This work experience gave me an insight into all the functioning of a manufacturing company, as well as knowledge about metal manufacturing methods, moreover, I learned how to go to a site, make elevation drawings, speak with the end user, and the ability to actively listen to his needs.
